I could never figure out what good fasting (or for that matter, giving up for Lent) would do to glorify God. These verses seem to confirm my suspicions. They remind us that fasting for the sake of fasting does not glorify God, but sharing with those in need and spreading God’s goodness does. So, let’s get to it! God will be there to help us along the way.
