December 2 – Isaiah 60:1-9

God does not mince words in the first part of the book of Isaiah. We are shown an angry God: “Stop all this evil that I see you doing. Yes, stop doing evil and learn to do right.” He is tired of his people worshiping Him, all the while being so corrupted by sin. The situation reeks of hypocrisy! You can almost hear our God pleading through his anger. But then the Loving God injects the words of hope, “I will wash you as clean as snow.” He just asks that we obey Him.
