This brief passage is in many ways the perfect Advent message – with God’s arrival comes his unfailing love and complete redemption. Because we all sinners, we all cry out for help, and our lives become a prayer to this forgiving God. We wait and watch all our lives for God’s arrival, more than we do anything else. And we trust in God’s mercy, not just for ourselves, but for all who believe and put their hope in him. How could we ask for any more reason to spread the good news?
